Visit My Nottingham School Library

Our library Learning Commons is accessible to all. All are welcome. Staff and students utilize the learning environment that is flexible, collaborative, personalized and promotes student achievement and well-being.  Ambassadors from our Welcome Committee help new students assimilate in a safe and inclusive way by giving tours, tips and assistance to those who may feel overwhelmed by their first few weeks at our school.  Training for Ambassadors happens during two lunch hours in September and we are always looking for friendly students who speak languages reflected in our community.

Our library collection is diverse and rooted in literacy, with a focus on materials that represent our school community. Our collection engages students, allowing them to critically question while becoming globally aware.

Our library Learning Commons hosts many student lunch clubs and activities such as Lego Club (Gr.1-3) and Maker Space (Gr. 4-6), (which begin in November and continue until April).  In January,  the Forest of Trees book clubs (Silver Birch Gr. 4-6, & Red Maple Gr. 7 & 8) will have information meetings the first week back to school and our meetings will take place bi-weekly at lunch.  Students involved in the Forest of Trees activities will vote for their favourite Canadian author in April and these results will be added to the Provincial winner announced at the Festival of Trees in May.  Students may submit their trivia questions for these book clubs at these Red Maple, Silver Birch and Yellow Cedar websites.
